Frit and Frat co-hosted KCAL 9 TV’s-“9 On The Town” and “Extreme Fake Over” for Pax TV. Their Commercials Include: Truth, Sony, Captain Morgan’s, California Lotto, Lexmark, General Motors, Domino’s Pizza, Hartford Insurance, Nike, 7up and PATH. They've worked under choreographer’s Keith Young, Russell Clark, Miranda Garrison and Tina Landon. Film/Television: worked with directors Joel Schumacher, Henry Selick, Greg Beeman, Bruce Gowers, F. Gary Gray, Larry Einhorn, Woody Frazer, Jeff Androsky and have been guests on several television shows.
Other choreography includes “21 Stories” performed in LA and NYC. "Flirting With Morty" (NAACP and Ovation Award Nominated). “The Universoul Circus” National/International Tour and HBO special, Choreography and staging for the Mrs. America & Mrs. World Pageants for the Women’s Entertainment Network, Directed and choreographed Vox Lumiere's: "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" National/ International tour and the Vox PBS special as well as several theme park, Industrial and Corporate events. Frit and Frat are the Artistic Directors of the LA Based KIN Dance Company. They also created, directed and choreographed the jukebox stage Musical Revue "Down Around Brown Town" celebrating the music of Mr. James Brown previously performed in LA and NYC.

This workshop invites participants to explore Indian dance as a both classical and Bollywood/contemporary dance style. We begin with a warm- up based in Indian dance, yoga, and contemporary dance, then transition into exercises that stress selected body positions, rhythms, hand gestures, eye movements, and emotional content typical for Bollywood dance. We then combine all these elements to form a dance routine!
Sangita’s unique dance work has been presented in academic and creative venues around the world including Jacob’s Pillow and the American Dance Festival (Durham, NC). She has performed and taught Indian classical and new choreography in Sri Lanka, India, Belgium, Germany, Nepal, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and United States. She holds a Ph.D. from the Department of World Arts and Cultures at UCLA. Her book on Bollywood dance was published by SAGE in 2011. She continues to explore the intersection between dance and media in her academic and artistic projects.

Enjoy a rhythmic tap class that covers 'call and response' warm up, technical drills and a punchy routine to wrap.
Glyn has been involved in the arts for over 30 years. He has performed on London’s “West End” and in numerous musicals such as Songbook, Slice of Saturday Night, The Boyfriend, The Man of Steel and SHOUT! The Musical. Glyn’s television and film credits include Baz Luhrmann’s movie “Moulin Rouge”, “Star Factory”, “Good Morning Australia”, “Kerri-Anne”, “Sunrise”, and numerous ads for “Coca Cola”, “Duluxe Paint”, “McDonalds” and “Converse”. He is on faculty at Los Angeles’ Debbie Reynolds Legacy Studio and has taught throughout New Zealand, Australia, United States and Europe in various performing arts centres and institutions. Glyn is co-creator of AJDA tap syllabus and co-creator/director/choreographer to his show BPM beatsperminute which has toured Australia, multiple sell-out seasons at the Sydney Opera House and more recently premiered in Los Angeles as part of The Nvitational Festival, Pasadena Dance Festival, Industry Voice Awards, Celebrate Dance and The King King in Hollywood.

Pilates with Karyn Klein
This “Flow” mat class will introduce both classic and modified exercises developed by Joseph Pilates. The focus will be on “core” muscles and how they can improve the dancer’s technique. Designed for beginning through advanced dancers.

Karyn holds a Masters in Dance from UCLA and is former Chair of Dance at USC. A transplant from the East Coast, she moved to California for graduate school and never looked back. While she had danced with several companies in New York, she was excited by the innovation with art in Los Angeles. She was a most fortunate member of Collage Dance Theatre for 12 years when "site specific" dance companies were barely on the horizon. Karyn was an adjunct professor at Glendale Community College for 15 years, teaching dance, Pilates, and injury prevention. She owns a Pilates/Gyrotonic® studio in South Pasadena, CA and continues to offer teacher training programs and workshops in Southern California.

Nonprofit Opportunities in Dance
This year we are introducing a new session to the Festival called Nonprofit Opportunities in Dance. The goal is to expose dancers to alternative careers in dance, with a focus on using art as a means to strengthen community. We will have a representative from The Gabriella Foundation and A Place Called Home to speak briefly about their organization, then their students/constituents to perform a dance representative of their work. At the end of all the presentations, audience members will have the chance to ask questions.
Contemp Ballet with Jana Taylor
An energetic ballet class with modern dance elements and athletic center combinations which all together compose Jana Taylor’s unique contemporary ballet style!
Jana Taylor is a choreographer, teacher, and dancer based out of Orange County. She directs her modern ballet company Jana Taylor + Dancers which has performed at Front & Main Dance Festival, SoCal Dance & Choreography Festival, LA Unbound, RAW Artists OC, Loose Cannons Choreography Show, and NDEO National Conference. Jana has taught and choreographed for Huntington Beach Academy for Performing Arts, Fullerton Youth Ballet, Concordia University, Encore Dance Company, Lifehouse Performing Arts Academy, and Musical Theatre Village.
Jana received her BA in Dance from Brigham Young University. She performed and toured with BYU’s Theatre Ballet and Ballet Showcase Company, published an article in the BYU Dance Journal, and earned an ORCA grant to choreograph a contemporary ballet piece for which she received the Phi Eta Sigma Outstanding Performing Arts Award. Jana has directed and choreographed ballets such as The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, and more. During her time as Assistant Director and principal choreographer of Fullerton Youth Ballet at CF Dance Academy, she coached and choreographed for many soloists and ensembles who competed and earned top place awards at Youth America Grand Prix and other competitions. As a dancer, Jana has performed in parades at the Disneyland Resort, with Encore Dance Company, Daniel Diaz Dance, and at LA Dance Festival. She currently dances with Nannette Brodie Dance Theatre and AkomiDance.

Contemporary Brazilian with Julie Simon
Drawing on kaleidoscopic roots and diverse technical platforms of Brazilian, African, and Contemporary movement, the aim of this class is to fuse multiple perspectives of dance to create a unique energetic expression. Dancers are challenged to execute movement that is both grounded and voluminous, and encouraged to push beyond the confines of any one traditional technique or thought pattern bringing forth their true essence to engage in the joyous celebration of dance. Very high energy with a lot of floor work.
It’s intense. It’s liberating. It’s joyful.
Dance Artist Julie Simon, has been a professional dancer for 25 years performing in styles ranging from Brazilian, Caribbean and Latin Dances, to African and Afro-Contemporary Dance Styles. She was based in Northern Ca. for 7 years, Africa for 4 months, Europe for 7 years and performed internationally in 12 different countries before returning to her native Southern California. She began teaching Contemporary Brazilian Dance, Samba and Barre Blaze 2003 through the urging of her mentor Eneida Castro.

Body Screening with Annette
This class will cover dancer screening. Participants will be tested in balance, flexibility, strength, coordination, and aerobic capacity.
Annette Karim, PT, DPT, Ph.D., OCS, FAAOMPT, serves as an assistant professor and director of the PhD in Rehabilitation and Movement Science and post-professional programs in the Department of Physical Therapy at Azusa Pacific University. She specializes in orthopaedics, dance medicine, and manual therapy. Karim is a graduate of the Harris Health System’s orthopaedic residency, and the Manual Therapy Institute’s fellowship in manual therapy, which she also serves as a mentoring fellow. She is the president of the Performing Arts Special Interest Group (PASIG), Academy of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy, American Physical Therapy Association. An active member of Dance/USA’s Task Force on Dancer Health, the International Association for Dance Medicine & Science, and the Performing Arts Medicine Association, she spends her time away from campus presenting on dancer wellness care at dance festivals, university dance programs, and conferences, and providing care for dancers. She has taught ballet, pointe, jazz, and tap for more than 25 years.

Intermediate Muller Technique with Tracy Kofford
This technique creates high caliber dancers who having a stronger technique, more range and control, and being more energetic, better able to visualize energy flow and its effect on body structure and alignment, allowing the energy to flow through the body without exhaustion to the muscular system. It is this “polarity of energy” that create a more “intimate” relationship between the dancer and their body, down to the most “miniscule” parts, and it is this knowledge that can be applied to any dance style.
Tracy Ray Kofford (Director of Dance) is originally from Southern California where his dancing began with tap at the age of 9, and his theatre work began at the age of 13. He holds a BFA degree in dance from the University Of California at Santa Barbara and a MFA degree from New York University Tisch School of the Arts where he received a full scholarship. His choreography has been presented at NYU Main stage, at the NYU 25th anniversary Gala, Adelphi University, Stockton College, Stockton Student Showcase, Hope College, DanceLoft in Switzerland, Lincoln Center in NYC, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line (Atlantis), Kinesis and at the Jennifer Muller Summer Intensive workshop in NYC. In 2008, Mr. Kofford assisted Jennifer Muller and John Brooks in the re-staging of City for Williams/Henry Dance Company as well as performing with the company.

Indian Classical Dance Fundamentals with Shivani Thakkar
Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of Indian classical dance, gain understanding on the foundation and nuances between the 8 classical dance styles of India and their influence on Bollywood. Students will physically explore the movement style, while gaining an overview of the depth and breadth of Indian dance including hand gestures, facial expressions, body stances and positions, and rhythm work.
Shivani Thakkar, an internationally recognized artist, Shivani's specialties include Bharata Natyam (Indian classical), Bollywood, Tap, Jazz, and Ballet. Balancing a commitment to artistry and commercial dance, Shivani choreographs with an eye to creating quality work that was constantly unique and at the forefront of the field. She is the Founder and Artistic Director of MKM Bollystars Dance Company and Academy.

Natalie Jameson was born and raised in Orange County, CA. She loved competing as a child and attended Orange County High School of the Arts (OCSA) in the Commercial Dance Department where, in 2006, she was recognized as “Outstanding Lyrical Dancer of the Year”. Natalie continued her training, majoring in dance at Orange Coast College and Chapman University. She has been choreographing competition routines at various studios in Orange County since 2007. In 2014 and 2015, she choreographed for “Dancerpalooza”. In 2016 and 2017, she choreographed for San Juan Hills High School show 'Choreographer’s Ball'. She won the Choreography Award in 2017 at Starpower Nationals and in 2018 at Revolution regionals. Currently she teaches at Reve Conservatory in Ranch Santa Margarita, A Step Above in Vista, Dancing Images in Moreno Valley, and directing the Prowl Dance Team at Mission Vista High School. Natalie’s latest venture is starting her own performance based, pre-professional contemporary dance company in 2016, called Jameson & Company.

This class will provide dancers with a different way to inhabit the body through yoga breath practices, vinyasa flow and gentle stretching. Yoga is a way to connect the body, mind and spirit and can lead to fewer injuries and positive body awareness. Come learn some new ways to relax, release and connect to yourself.
Peggy Burt, a former Lineage Dancer, enjoyed a long and rewarding career as a dancer, dance teacher and choreographer before finding the joy of yoga! Her graceful yoga practice is infused with a sense of flow, breath and ease. Peggy has studied with Rene Quenell, Eden Jacobson, Addie deHilster, as well as Tracee Stanley. She holds certifications from Yoga Works, TheraYoga and Yoga Madre (RYT 500). Peggy is co-founder of Spiral Path Yoga Center which opened January of 2016 in La Crescenta; a welcoming place where she teaches and leads workshops blending yoga and meditation. Peggy proudly serves on the Lineage Dance/Lineage Performing Arts Center Board of Directors.
