With original music by composer John Guth, the dance moves effortlessly between the right and left brain playing intuition off rational thinking and back again. The piece draws on the power of live theatre as actors weave facts and stories about the brain into the dance, posing questions that take us into the mystery of our common origins. Using movement as the lens to investigate what we know about how the brain works, evolves and changes, the viewer is drawn into a visceral experience of mind over matter.  The Brain in Motion presents scientific concepts through dance in a way that is bold, educational and inspiring. The mysteries of the brain and the challenges of conditions such as Parkinson’s Disease and Alzheimers  are rendered through dance, bringing a deeper awareness and understanding. This work was the catalyst for the Lineage outreach classes, “Dancing through Parkinson’s”, that continue through the Lineage Performing Arts Center.
